Mother Teresa : Come be my light

Mother Teresa: Come be my light
This historic work reveals the inner spiritual life of one of the most beloved and important religious figures in history.

During her lifelong service to the poorest of the poor, Mother Teresa became an icon of compassion to people of all religions; her extraordinary contributions to the care of the sick, the dying, and thousands of others nobody else was prepared to look after has been recognized and acclaimed throughout the world. Little is known, however, about her own spiritual heights or her struggles. This collection of her writing and reflections, almost all of which have never been made public before, sheds light on Mother Teresa's interior life in a way that reveals the depth and intensity of her holiness for the first time.

Compiled and presented by Fr. Brian Kolodiejchuk, M.C., who knew Mother Teresa for twenty years and is the postulator for her cause for sainthood and director of the Mother Teresa Center, MOTHER TERESA brings together letters she wrote to her spiritual advisors over decades. A moving chronicle of her spiritual journey—including moments, indeed years, of utter desolation—these letters reveal the secrets she shared only with her closest confidants. She emerges as a classic mystic whose inner life burned with the fire of charity and whose heart was tested and purified by an intense trial of faith, a true dark night of the soul.

Published to coincide with the tenth anniversary of her death, MOTHER TERESA is an intimate portrait of a woman whose life and work continue to be admired by millions of people. Buy from Amazon

Inspirational Hope -Don't give up hope

The Lord said in Jeremiah 29:11 "The Plans I have for you...are...Good...to Give You A Future and a Hope. This short story is indeed an inspirational hope for you. What ever you are going through don't give up hope.

A few years ago the Soviet submarine Kursk went down in the Barents Sea. When the diving crews finally reached it they heard SOS signals coming from inside. Desperate sailors wondered "Is there any hope?" Sadly, for them there wasn't.

Do you feel trapped in an impossible situation you can't seem to change or escape? If so, God is saying to you today, "...the plans I have for you...are...good... to give you future and a hope." 'Now, hope is not just the absence of despair, it's the presence of something greater; something only God can give. Hope is not passive; it's the most active force in the world because it's derived from the most powerful being of all - God. And it's never further away than He is.

Clint Eastwood became famous for starring in a movie called The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Four decades later some of us still use those words when describing certain aspects of life. But here's the good news: through the amazing grace God can take the good, the bad and he ugly experiences in your life and use them to make you unbelievably better at what He created you for, whatever that might be! In God's economy all is redeemed and nothing is ever lost. He can take the good things we remember fondly, the bad things we might like to forget, and the ugly things that shaped us into people we didn't start out to be, and use all of them to facilitate His purpose for ea ch and everyone of us. So, don't give up hope. The hope we have from the Lord is indeed inspirational hope. Share it with others.

Wartime Prayer book by Archbishop Fulton Sheen

Archbishop Fulton Sheen published a prayer book entitled The Armor of God in 1943. The world as we know it was caught in a variety of wars. Everyday life was full of uncertainties. Today there is need for hope, as darkness has once again lift up its ugly head in the form of terror. Faith, courage, love and hope are needed than ever before as young people go into the field to defend freedom. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Foundation has reprinted The Armor of God with the simple title The Wartime Prayer Book. The Wartime Prayer Book contains the standard Catholic prayers, and also enable the soldiers to reflect on their calling to serve and defend their country. In Wartimes, I believe prayers sustain those whose sons are in the battle front line, the military leaders and his fighting men. Check out these links below

This book was first heard as radio addresses before publication as three separate books: The Case for Christianity, Christian Behavior, and Beyond Personality this book brings together Lewis's legendary broadcast talks of the war years, talks in which he set out simply to explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times.

In Defense of Israel, by John Hagee

In Defense of Israel, by John HageeI pray for Israel and I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. This is good read for all Christians. Here is the book description:
Why is the Middle East in such turmoil? Is the modern State of Israel in the plan of God? Can and should Christians do more than pray for Israel? Does God's Word contain instructions to Christians regarding the treatment of Jewish people? In the near-thirty years John Hagee has been a lover of Israel, he has grappled with each of these questions. Like him, most Christians today don't know much about the Jewish faith or the history of the Jewish nation. They don't understand what is truly at stake in the Middle East conflict and why Christians need to do more than just pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They don't know the role they've been called to play in relationship with Israel, and they aren't sure how God feels about Israel today, either. As Hagee guides readers through the scriptures that explain why Christians need to stand with Israel and the Jews today with as much fervor as God does, they will encounter a man deeply passionate about loving this historic people of God. They'll be inspired to take up that same mantle of love and play a part in extending acceptance and favor to the people of Israel, just as God has called them to do.
